Diane Downey is the Assistant Head of ICT for Sunderland City Council.  Diane has responsibility for the development and implementation of ICT systems within Sunderland City Council; this includes the ICT support for Sunderland City Council’s current Business Improvement Programme

Diane’s role also includes the support and development of Community based ICT and was part of the team that developed Sunderland’s winning Digital Challenge bid.  The bid has heightened awareness of the role of ICT as an enabler within the community and has raised the profile of the extensive work the council has already achieved in this area.

Diane has worked in the IT industry for 13 years, working for British Airways before joining Sunderland City Council.
