Sean Whetstone

Company Name: Reed Group
From his initial background with ICL mainframes at HM Treasury, Sean joined the Reed group almost twenty years ago and is now the company's Head of IT Services. Having founded Reed.co.uk in 1995 the site is now the UK's largest job website with over two and a half million registered users.
During Sean's time, Reed has become the UK's first major recruitment company to go Carbon Neutral through the Carbon Trust (2005) and in 2006 successfully reduced its carbon footprint by 2,500 tonnes of CO² following the introduction of a new IT infrastructure.
A regular speaker on green IT and infrastructure issues, Sean has presented to IT Analyst panels on technology trends and completed a number of case studies and interviews for industry press.
Environmentally active in home and family life Sean is committed to recycling and reducing energy consumption within the home. Demonstrating his commitment to environmental affairs he is also in the process of applying for planning permission for wind turbine and solar panels.
