Andrew Byrom, Service Delivery Manager for ICT Services at Leeds City Council, is responsible for the service management aspects of all customer facing ICT services within Leeds City Council. Andrew is Deputy Competency Lead for Service Delivery for the HM Government IT Profession and is a member of the cross-Government Enterprise Architecture (xGEA) Service Management team.
Andrew has worked within the IT industry for twenty four years, mainly in a mainframe background, across a number of sectors. This has included operating on ICL, IBM and Bull mainframes. Andrew has worked for Leeds City Council for eleven years. Andrew moved away from a production background in 2003 and has progressed through a number of roles, such as working within a test environment, managing a team of field engineers and managing the Service Centre. Andrew has now been in post as Service Delivery Manager for eighteen months.
Part of Andrew's role includes the responsibility for the lifecycle of the desktop estate, as such he has been involved in sourcing as efficient a desktop as possible. He has also ensured the disposal of the estate is undertaken with the minimum damage to the environment. Andrew has previously developed the Travel Plan for the ICT main office.
Andrew holds the ITIL Service Management Manager's Certificate, along with a number of other professional qualifications. Andrew is keen cyclist and undertakes a daily sixteen mile commute to work.
