Chris and Euan will open Green IT 08 with a “state of the state” session which will offer Forrester’s general perspective on green IT adoption. This will lead into an introduction to JP Ranaswami, MD, BT Design and a recognized Green IT visionary who will discuss how BT is engaged in an ongoing drive to reduce its carbon footprint and improve environmental sustainability. Having already reduced emissions by 60% between 1996 and 2006, BT is on track to extend that reduction to 80% by 2016. This presentation will explore how progress towards sustainability can be achieved through the use of innovative technology, and how the development of a "Green IT" strategy has been important in BT's overall business.
